Silverback Jiu Jitsu

Daniel Casarez

Born and raised in Clovis New Mexico, Head Professor and Owner, Daniel Casarez has always had a passion for Martial Arts, growing up in a Karate Dojo. It wasn't until he stumbled upon an underground Jiu Jitsu club on  the ENMU campus that he found his true passion for Jiu Jitsu. Daniel was the instructor of  defensive tactics and use of force for the Police Department and SWAT team. While on duty, he quickly became aware about the importance of ground control and body dynamics. In 2016 Daniel decided to leave the police department and  soley focus on his growing gym. This gave Daniel the freedom to expand his  schedule, creating more of an opportunity for extra classes to allow students of all ages. As a full time coach Daniel was able to travel more for further advancement in his own study as well as travel for tournaments. Under Professor Marcus Antalante- a multi world champion, Daniel earned his black belt September of 2019. Daniel takes pride in developing a successful team with strong foundations and an even stronger desire to advance in their own personal Jiu Jitsu career.
